Federal Government Demands Proprietary Information from Google
Search engine company ordered to turn over records of all searches from an arbitrary one-week period so the Justice Department can crack down on pornography. This isn't even a matter of national security -- it's just the Justice Department making noise about "protecting children," which is utter garbage anyway. The feds have subpoenaed other search-engine firms which reportedly have complied with the request. Good for Google to fight back. Does the government know about a secret provision in the Constitution granting them the power to do things like this? Because it sure isn't in the printed copy everyone else has received. In fact, there's that pesky pair, Amendments IX and X, which say the government specifically can't do it.
