Criminal scams now run bigger than entire national economies
A UN report says "Their operating model looks like corporate franchising: imagine specialized departments for laundering money, trafficking people, smuggling migrants, and harvesting data, all plugged into the same, service-based interconnected network" and estimates that organized crime is using technology to rip off somewhere between $88 and $115 billion a year.
