The show that got away: Being an Iowan, I suppose, I'm of the belief that most people are good. Furthermore, I've always figured that people who do wrong could probably be rehabilitated, given the right attention. But when I floated thoughts on rehabilitation (inspired by the re-capture of the two escaped inmates from Fort Madison), the overwhelming response was that if you don't put people on the right track by their early 20's, there's little hope of redemption. I suppose some research is in order to find out if it's really that sad a situation.
Meanwhile, a small victory for freedom: The UN won't be taking over the Internet for now. Let's hope we can keep it that way.
