Why is the US Senate wasting time and money on broadcast indecency hearings when they still haven't solved the Social Security problem...or fixed FEMA...or properly aired the problems with the Patriot Act? We'll have to find out what the President thinks Congress should be doing when he gives the State of the Union Address on Tuesday.
In the meantime, someone is to be applauded for the continued effort to drive Fidel Castro nuts. What's disconcerting, though, is that the US government can be so good about annoying communists in Cuba, but be so dull-witted about cutting back on pro-freedom broadcasts to the rest of the world, just as China starts broadcasting propaganda in English to the very places the US broadcasts have been cut back.
