EU Foreign-Affairs Chief Wants Middle East to Calm Down
The Secretary-General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference says the EU and the United Nations should pass laws against blasphemy, but to his credit, the top EU diplomat says that's going too far and suggests that "Offence cannot be countered with violence". In the meantime, Britain is in the process of tightening restrictions on free speech that seem to cross the line past only prohibiting speech that creates a "clear and present danger" -- and dashing other liberties, too.
