How to Get Rid of the High-Pitched Whistle on AM Radio
Brian Gongol
We've received more than a few comments that people are having trouble with their AM reception, specifically due to a high-pitched whine or whistle that they hear while trying to listen to WHO Radio.
In most cases, this sound can be done away with by one of the following steps:
- Move the radio away from major sources of electromagnetic interference, like laptop computers and television sets
- Move the radio away from fluorescent bulbs (including compact fluorescents)
- Move the radio away from devices like rheostats (which you may be using to adjust your lights or fans in place of an on/off switch)
Have you tried any of these? Have they worked? Your comments are always welcomed.
