"America's Richest Families", edited by Jennifer Eum and Annabel Lau

Brian Gongol

One-paragraph review: A light compilation of stories about ten of America's richest families, culled from Forbes's archives. Lacking in any common themes, bridging commentary from essay to essay, or even introductory paragraphs, but a light dive into some of the magazine's better articles on the individual subjects involved. The "compendium" in the title suggests that this is a more comprehensive review than it truly is; it's much more scattershot than one might hope to get in a true reader on the subject. Not particularly insightful, but not a terrible light read.

Verdict: Harmless reading, but far from a comprehensive look at America's richest families.
